Job Title: Deal Flow Manager

Job Title: Deal Flow Manager

This position reports directly to senior executives and works with incoming leads to screen and make recommendations to In3’s Investment Committee.

Announcement Date:  10 February 2023

Start Date:  As soon as possible in 2023

Type of Position:  After extensive orientation period, ~20 hrs/week part time or can become fulltime.

Location:  By remote. Candidates closer to US West Coast (Pacific) Timezone may have an advantage.

Background

In3 Capital receives a great diversity of inquiries, from developers in dozens of industry sectors and countries, with some that are under time constraints, and thus our responsiveness is key to serving the needs of those that can qualify.

Responsibilities

Review incoming applications (www.in3finance.com/apply) seeking funding or services and route to the appropriate party or respond to the lead with questions. Compensation aligns incentives with taking the right actions, recommending projects with winning proposals and politely rejecting or coaching those who cannot demonstrate they have what it takes.

Optional additional responsibilities can include project-based assignments to help construct or edit and improve client proposals for fundraising. This includes business plans and financial models prepared by In3, with specific duties that include (a) working with In3 tools and templates for business plans, PowerPoint slide decks and MS Excel financial models. Will assist with organizing, integrating and polishing the package of materials used to secure project capital from in-house funding.

Skills & Qualifications

  • This position requires a good working knowledge of In3’s funding programs, an in-depth understanding of project finance fundamentals, and consulting skills.  In time, must be able to master In3’s unique offerings to help steer clients along the optimal path to funding.
  • Diplomacy and social skills.  How do you deliver feedback to those who are counting on In3 to help?
  • Must be proficient with MS Office or willing to learn while handling complex datasets.

Ideal Character Traits:  If you thrive on new experiences, are very effective at both written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, have energy and drive, don’t give up easily, self-directed (attempt to find solutions on your own before asking for help), and see a future where business plays an important role as part of how we will build a sustainable world, then this position is for you!

Optional but Helpful Additional Skills

  • Writing, basic research and copyediting skills also helpful for project-related assignments.
  • Direct experience with project finance or venture capital in a particular set of industries is not necessary, but certainly would be a plus.
  • Business planning and project management skills also helpful. This role requires excellent written communication skills, with an emphasis on business writing with guidelines available. Must be able to prepare or polish various project-related documents using MS Office Suite skills (writing, editing, formatting and integrating), thus information management skills, such as copying charts and graphs between MS Excel and MS Word or PowerPoint. Must be self-starting, and work independently, in a fast-moving, highly entrepreneurial environment, where clients are always in a hurry, as they are seeking funds to construct “impact” projects that deliver social and/or environmental benefits alongside profits.

Career Development Track

Broadly, there are two roles within In3 Capital Group’s auspices:

1) Operational, client-facing work, where we typically enjoy significant dealflow “pull” for our funding

2) Business Development “push” (reaching out to others) for CAP funding guarantors, other capital sources, Affiliates and clients.

This position can grow into either full-time operations work (managing member) or business development activities, including reaching out to In3 Affiliates, asset owners, prospective investors/lenders, and prospective clients in key areas that align with In3’s investment strategy.

It is possible to blend together these roles, but typically career tracks specialize in either “pull” analytics and information management work, which is this position’s primary focus, or business development-related “push” work that consists of sales, marketing and sometimes new market development.

We do not discriminate based on age, sex, religion, race, or immigration status.
