Flexible hours, location and exact requirements:  We tailor positions to qualified candidates, seeking to identify unique traits or motivations. Remote locations are fine, with a slight preference for timezones close to California.

Current Open Positions

We are currently accepting applications for either of two positions, described below, either one can be structured as an internship or protege.  The main different is the length of engagement, that is, a protege is usually longer, and with mutual interest, can lead to ongoing paid assignments or work contracts.

Duration:

  • Protégé:  Open; will discuss timeframes for advancement.
  • Internships 3 months, minimum. 

Position 1) Business Development Manager or Associate — outreach and relationship management to private asset owners. Work with senior executives and available resources to research, identify and make initial contact with asset owners and private commercial lenders focused on Impact Projects, or topics tied to our mission and purpose of scaling projects that solve today’s pressing problems per the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  This role mixes marketing, business, sales and writing skills with an emphasis on the cutting edge of climate finance, making the world more livable, addressing basic needs in the developing world, business ethics (with ESG and greenwashing on the rise), and helping to pinpoint In3’s editorial voice.  More on In3’s impact investment strategy

Position 2) Information Systems Assistant / Website Media — In support of In3’s sales and marketing operations team, work on a set of projects tailored to the hired candidate aimed at improving customer relations, E-list subscriber communication, streamlining our website content and screening systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM via BIGIN by Zoho), and helping devise or co-produce a series of short, educational “on demand” videos (sample), … or other areas as mutually agreed. 

This position may also be involved with re-implementing an educational tool that helps project and venture owners to rapidly understand where their “deal” fits into the readiness standards used by investors.  This is called “RAIN” — which stands for Readiness and Investment Navigator, an elegant, rapid assessment and benchmarking tools developed by In3 Group.  This new implementation will likely use WordPress Formidable Forms, which can be integrated with Zoho Forms, as we prepare to roll out a formal offering (US SEC Regulation D, 506c) to subscribers of an Impact Guarantee Fund (more), Q3 of this year.


Either position can leverage and apply data analytics, customer service, business logic and digital skills (HTML or application configuration), if candidate brings any/all of these skills. 

Candidates with presentation skills or audio/video aptitude may be invited to participate in developing a library of short educational videos.

These and other changes (the post-COVID “new abnormal”, carbon credits, the rising importance of ESG and sustainability, inflation/deflation and more) require that we reinvent ourselves, constantly learn and improve, and bring our “A game” every day.  But it also provides vast opportunities for those with the agility, drive and focus to discern what matters from all the superficial hype and noise.  

Disciplines include any of the following, or in combination, as finance is inherently multidisciplinary, so we expect some degree of “creative fit” to your unique strengths.  All of these disciplines have their place in this important work: 

  • Finance and Accounting — financial management, impact investment, loan origination, private equities, fundraising, financial modeling (per IFRS or GAAP rules, in MS Excel), valuations and performance ratios.
  • Business Operations — basic business management, sales, marketing, business development, negotiations, event management, people management, meeting management, scheduling, basic leadership training. 
  • Applied Engineering, Owner’s Engineering, Software Systems Architecture — basic AI and web programming, user interface / customer experience, writing specifications, analytics.
  • Media, Design, Marketing and Story Telling — photography, film making, writing, video editing, illustrations, game design, and graphics (if desired)
  • Mentoring & Coaching / Teaching & Training — be coached and learn how to coach others at work or as part of teamwork, or in your community.  Such “facilitation” helps to skillfully work with diverse persons, their moods, ambitions, ability to learn, change habits, and life (outside of work).
  • General / Business Administration — in case you have not decided on a particular discipline, or focus areas, you can join the internship program in the Open Interest track. You will work and learn across disciplines.

About In3 Internship Program

Interns that demonstrate their ability to get results will be invited to continue in some capacity, or may be part of an ever-expanding base of diverse professionals that service In3 clients as independent contractors.  Internship program is open to students or graduates of all backgrounds, though the more “advanced” the better.  There will be no shortage of real-world challenges working in this sector (private capital, financial services, business/entrepreneurship) as many of these industries are experiencing unprecedented demand and growth, with innovation across the board — from fintech to agtech to cleantech, intended to accelerate “triple bottom line” results like never before.  UN SDGs are set for 2030, which is not that far away!

Ideal Intern Character Traits:  To qualify for this program, you must have an open mind and a willingness to learn, motivation to do quality work, and excellent communication skills.  If you thrive on new experiences, are very effective at both written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, have energy and drive, don’t give up easily, self-directed (attempt to find solutions on your own before asking for help), and see a future where business plays an important role as part of how we will build a sustainable world, then this program is for you!

Hiring Logistics:

  • At this time, all internships are conducted via 1:1 and group meetings by Zoom. However, exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.
  • There is no cost — no fee to apply.  Each party covers their own costs. 
  • You will be asked to sign a mutual non-disclosure / non-circumvention agreement.
  • Interns and regular positions will include an agreement that defines agreed-upon goals, timeframes, compensation, and duties.
